Chinese New Year’s Festival

On the first Sunday in March Jene Wah participates in this community wide celebration with an informational booth. For the last few years, the Board of Directors and volunteers sell themed balloons and beautifully calligraphed name plaques to attendees. It is a way to connect with our community supporters and to make new friends.

Senior Awareness Day

The last Thursday in May, the San Joaquin County Department of Aging holds a community fair open to seniors from the whole county. Vendors who provide services to seniors come to disseminate information. Jene Wah staff, board of directors and volunteers sell a hot lunch provided by generous Chinese restaurant donors.

Sam’s Café Dinner and Music on the Patio

For ten years, Sam and Mei Ouyang have held a full tri tip dinner complete with live music on their “patio”. The proceeds from sale of tickets are donated to Jene Wah. Each year the event has grown and over 250 tickets are sold. Jene Wah is indebted to this generous couple for their continuing support of Jene Wah. Please call Jene Wah for date: 209-463-7654
